I am a Black queer millennial cis-gender woman, who is a proud Oakland native. The knowledge of my family roots ceases in the Southern realm of the United States due to the Post-Atlantic slave trade, but our presence in Oakland, California goes back five generations.

I earned my bachelor's degree in English with a focus on creative writing from San Francisco State University, accompanied by minors in Africana studies and anthropology to fuel my love of people and cultures.

I decided to continue working on my passion for writing by pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at Columbia University, where I am currently in my final year. As an Afro-surrealist writer, I venture beyond conventional boundaries, exploring the Black experience in extraordinary circumstances that mirror the emotions and struggles faced in reality.

Through my writing, I aim to amplify the voices of real-life individuals, compelling readers to embrace diverse perspectives with open-mindedness and empathy. Beyond writing, I am an advocate for social justice and youth development, actively supporting the youth in my community by connecting them with essential resources and empowering them to pursue their passions.
